3 Most Misquoted Scriptures (not) from the Bible

1. God Dont Like Ugly

Perhaps those who say this may mean or hint at Galatians 6:7, ” Do not be decieved, God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, he shall reap.”  What man calls “ugly”, whether in appearnace or attitude, may not be, and usually isn’t, the same perspective God has of a person or thing.

2. God Helps Those That Help Themselves

This is simply not found in the Bible. Nor is it true. The crippled man of 38 years as told in the gospel couldn’t help himself nor did he have any friend to help him, yet Jesus still delivered him from his physical and mental bondage in one day, with one command!

The only verse that may be close to this concept, but is actually different, is found in Luke 11:9,10.  “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.  For every one that asketh reciveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh is shall be opened.”

3. God Dont Bless Mess

This is also not true.  Not only do I have personal testimonies against this, but going to an earlier, biblical source, the worse “mess” I have known is told in II Samuel 11:1-27.  After David committed adultery with his best army commander’s wife, planned and executed his murder, married & impregnated his widow, God still blessed him by using his second child to carry out the lineage and promise initailly made to him ( to build a House/Throne for the Lord that he would reign over). Not only that, God considered David a ‘true’ servant!!!

Sinner’s Prayer:

Dear Lord & Father, You are the Creator of all things and I know you created me. But I recognize I am a sinner through Adam's Fall and you sent your only Son, Jesus Christ to live, die and be raised from the dead for me. I repent of my sins and renounce all evil works and serving of other, lower, and lesser gods before thee. Come into me life and cleanse me by your Blood. Make me whole and well by your Holy Spirit. I now desire to live for you. Let your Holy Spirit guide me in all things. In the Name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!

Things to consider:

Jesus never charged for His Sermons, Preaching, Healing, etc...why should we put His Anointing on books, tapes, and cds, and charge people for it? I recall How angry Jesus was when the leaders of the Church of His time altered the purpose of the temple and made it a business. Shouldn't we too, be afraid to do the same? UPDATE: a minister pointed out, He didn't have to because His own people were financing Him. They were wealthy...
