Why a Christian should never watch scary horror films

Last month one friend asked another to the movies….to see the movie POSSESSED.  From what we’re told, this 2012 movie is the most fast paced, extremely scary, and very gory film to date.  Hmmm, nothing strange in the invite, you say?  Well the two involved were Christians!

Needless to say, the two did not go to the movies.  Why?  Well because Christians need to guard what they watch, hear, and taste.  Tons of Scriptures come up to mind here:

1. Watch and pray…. Mark 14:38

2. Abstain from all evil… I Thessalonians 5:22

3. Resist the devil and he will flee… James 4:7

4. Lead us not into temptation…. Matthew 6:13

5. Think on things that are lovely, good report…. Phillipians 4:8

Besides violating these Scriptures, that movie, or any other horror flick, plants seeds of demonic activity inside of your soul and spirit.  Whatever enters your gates: your eyes, your ears, your mouth, are seeds.  All seeds grow and birth something, whether its a door to more of the same or a ripe fruit from the seed.  We are responsible in stewarding how every minute of our lives our spent.  We cannot afford to allow satanic entertainment to have an entry in our lives.  Many Christians are already numbed because of the many doors of some things labeled ‘entertainment’ has been allowed to be opened within them.  Jesus said that ‘the prince of this world is coming and he has nothing in Me’.  Make a resolve to review everything you are recieving and reject those things that are not like Christ or are ungodly.

Sinner’s Prayer:

Dear Lord & Father, You are the Creator of all things and I know you created me. But I recognize I am a sinner through Adam's Fall and you sent your only Son, Jesus Christ to live, die and be raised from the dead for me. I repent of my sins and renounce all evil works and serving of other, lower, and lesser gods before thee. Come into me life and cleanse me by your Blood. Make me whole and well by your Holy Spirit. I now desire to live for you. Let your Holy Spirit guide me in all things. In the Name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!

Scripture of the Month-March

Philippians 4:4 Rejoice in the Lord always: and again I say, Rejoice.

Things to consider:

Jesus never charged for His Sermons, Preaching, Healing, etc...why should we put His Anointing on books, tapes, and cds, and charge people for it? I recall How angry Jesus was when the leaders of the Church of His time altered the purpose of the temple and made it a business. Shouldn't we too, be afraid to do the same? UPDATE: a minister pointed out, He didn't have to because His own people were financing Him. They were wealthy...
